FUNCTIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Essential Job Functions:
- In charge of the plant in the chief's absence.
- Regular attendance.
- Must be able to meet essential job functions with or without accommodation.
- Responsible for payroll and any information related to it (approval of vacation, sick days, etc.).
- Engage in interviewing, hiring and disciplinary action in support of the needs of the maintenance department.
- Responsible for purchase, installation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Responsible for building maintenance and repair.
- Responsible for strong preventative maintenance program.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of environmental concerns: OSHA, reduction of utilities, garbage, etc.
- Attending seminars and meetings to remain on top of new techniques and equipment and to communicate pertinent information to individuals.
- Take “off hour” phone calls. Provide technical support for all plant related issues.
- Be a working supervisor and perform functions listed in the duties of maintenance technicians.
- Perform other various job duties, as necessary.
- Maintain required key performance indicators.
- Ensure all work is assigned and recorded into the maintenance site.
- Organize and follow through with all projects.
- Be an active member of the plant safety committee.
- Responsible to learn the Chief Engineer position for potential promotion.
- Ensure all required technical training is completed.
- Must complete required evaluations of technicians.
- Must ensure compliance with HLAC and Hygienically Clean.
- Must remain compliant with all safety related company policies and procedures.
- Must use proper PPE in compliance with company policies.
Secondary Job Functions:
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Available to work any day of the week as scheduled and subject to call-in when necessary.
- Record all required work in a timely manner: work orders, time sheets, and request forms.
- Performs other various job duties as may be assigned.
- Maintain an accurate parts inventory.
Requirements:
- Prior laundry maintenance experience is required.
- 3 years or more experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Prior experience with boiler maintenance.
- Ability to supervise maintenance technicians.
- Able to manage budget guidelines.
- Effectively communicate with vendors, able to order parts with “just in time” needs to keep minimal inventory.
- Good communications skills at all levels.
- High School, GED, or equivalent.
- Must wear proper PPE and complete all required safety training.
