Job description

WCNC-TV, the TEGNA NBC affiliate in Charlotte, NC is looking for a full-time Broadcast Director . The person filling this role is responsible for coding and executing newscasts and other local programs primarily using the Sony ELC automation system. The ideal candidate will have interests in or aptitude toward broadcast engineering and will work with Engineering and IT team to help resolve technical issues that arise.


The Broadcast Director will work closely with our news, production and technical teams to produce fast-paced, compelling and comprehensive newscasts & programs.


We are looking for someone to bring forward-thinking production ideas, strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage quality control at a high level. They should have a curiosity for how broadcast systems work and a desire to learn how to fix them.

Travel: Rarely: less than 10%


Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment


Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
