About New Heights Insurance:
New Heights Insurance Solutions a division of SPG Insurance Solutions is a growing, and successful property and casualty insurance wholesaler and managing general agency based in Doylestown, PA , with remote staff.. We sell exclusively to retail and wholesale agencies across the country with a focus on commercial construction risks.
Position Summary:
As part of a growing leading team, you will help empower results for our clients and partnered carriers by delivering innovative and effective solutions to support the risk and increase profitability.
Corporate Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate the activities of underwriting to ensure consistent applications of underwriting guidelines and appropriate underwriting results.
Develop and implement enhancements to coverages and rates for existing programs and help develop new programs based on review and knowledge of market trends.
Review, evaluate and rate complex cases and referrals from underwriting team as needed in accordance with stipulated authority limits from our partnered carriers.
Review and evaluate the performance of the underwriting team to ensure appropriate loss rations, direct and coordinate any necessary remedial actions with Leadership.
Track and report on underwriting trends, broker activity, carrier referrals, individual underwriting performance metrics and other important information that can lead to improving revenue results
Manage team to include attaining revenue, underwriting performance, productivity, policy retention, new business goals as well as compliance to underwriting authority guidelines, quality, training, and development.
Develop positive and constructive working relationships with ensuring our carriers and key brokers to help enhance the programs performances by attracting and retaining profitable business.
Conduct periodic audits of the underwriting teams files to ensure quality, consistency, timeliness, and best practices are being achieved.
Maintain standards and develop and implement new processes / procedures which have impact on functional areas as well as on operations of internal and external clients.
Complete a variety of underwriting and management projects at the direction of Senior Leadership.
Special Skills:
Experience managing underwriting teams (P&C) commercial lines specifically and processes with a passion for finding solutions.
Insurance industry knowledge, specifically commercial liability, Auto, Property, and Inland Marine insurance background.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Underwriting experience
Strong client facing / presentation skills.
Ability to develop reports, spreadsheets, and data analytics.
Ability to multi-task an manage to multiple performance metrics.
Ability to keep a proactive pulse on the business and provide quick response as required.
Applies professional principles and business judgement to solve unique problems or to develop new procedures, process, and products.
Required Qualifications:
Four-year college degree or (equivalent in work experience) in commercial construction insurance, customer service management or related field.
Licensed P & C insurance agent
Must have 8 years insurance industry experience in construction commercial lines Underwriting. Management experience a plus.
Must be proficient in MS Office products including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Proficiency in AIM / Image Right a plus.
Reportability: To the President of New Heights Insurance Solutions and Chris Treanor. President and CEO of SPG (Specialty Program Group).
Work Location : This position has remote working opportunities.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $125,000-$160,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
