Job description
MARS Solutions is looking for a Die Setter in Janesville, WI
- Perform simple to complex tool installations on a variety of compaction and sizing presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Initiate process improvements for compacting and sizing presses.
- Operate and adjust machines until target parameters for parts have been achieved to minimize reject rate.
- Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of compacting and sizing tooling and machines.
- Take the lead facilitator role within a focus group when appointed.
- Serve as a resource for the resolution of complex pressing/coining problems.
- Provide training to other employees by sharing skills and knowledge when required.
- Generate detailed tool damage reports and participate in tooling damage reviews.
- Use established methods and software for labor reporting, SPC, capability studies, and workload management.
- Provide effective communication within all manufacturing departments and other relevant personnel.
- Handle powder handling responsibilities, such as retrieving powder from inventory, loading powder into the presses, cleaning the powder delivery system, and removing scrap or unused powder from the presses.
- Follow all established safety rules and LOCK OUT/TAG OUT procedures.

- Proficiency in molding powdered metal parts in multi-level mechanical and hydraulic compacting presses.
- Working knowledge and understanding of P/M tooling.
