Job description
Looking for a Project Scheduler/Controls Specialist in the Los Angeles area (Torrance)
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for refinery equipment, including pumps, compressors, reactors, distillation columns, and other critical assets.
- Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to prioritize work orders, plan resources, and allocate manpower effectively.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, monitor equipment reliability, and generate performance reports.
- Identify potential bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risks in the maintenance schedule and propose solutions to optimize resources and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials, spare parts, and equipment needed for maintenance activities.
- Develop shutdown and turnaround plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling, while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance activities, such as mean time between failures (MTBF), mean time to repair (MTTR), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Continuously evaluate and improve planning and scheduling processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and reliability within the refinery.
- Conduct regular reviews and meetings with stakeholders to communicate schedule changes, updates, and progress on maintenance activities.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to refinery planning and scheduling.
