Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of The Walt Disney Company. Its experienced corps of Imagineers is responsible for the creation - from concept initiation through installation - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects.
You will report to the Manager, Employee Store.
This is a 2 1/2-year-long Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
You will be acting as the manager on duty of the sales floor of the employee store, Mickey's of Glendale, ensuring all sales objectives and goals are met while providing a high level of service that exceeds the guest's expectations. As a leader, you will be responsible for leading, training, and mentoring staff when the Manager is not physically onsite. This role will not only support the employee store but will represent The Walt Disney Company and its branded products at conventions. As a leader, you will be responsible for the store display execution and store visuals. You will also have responsibilities of the following:
Partner with manager and finance in interpreting system inventory level planning and management
Contribute to the development of visual merchandise props and all kinds of fixtures that use for the store promotion and seasonal purpose. Communication with vendors and partners with sourcing team to control the cost.
Connect with key partners (product development, eCommerce) daily or weekly based on business needs, including merchandise entry and exit logistics and merchandise presentation standards and guidelines
Actively support securing company assets through effective loss prevention in compliance with company policies and procedures. Participates in all physical inventories
Assist in reconciliation and compliance to daily cash, banking, and written store audit procedures as needed
Uphold all company policies as outlines in the standard operating procedures, Employee Policy Manual, and Code of Business Conduct
Required Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of business/retail management and guest service experience in a fast-paced retail environment. Retail management experience with a multi-million sales volume is preferred
Solid understanding of computer software Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, and POS system Retail Pro
Knowledge of retail sales techniques and practices and proven cash-handling skills
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team skills with the ability to empower and work collaboratively with cross-function teams, executives, employees and external partners.
Strong organizational skills, versatility, and ability to multi-task
Demonstrated success in decision-making, subtlety, and flexibility
Highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal guidance
Visual merchandising displays savvy
Full-Time availability with flexibility for a retail schedule that meets the needs of the business including, evenings, weekends, and key off-site special events
Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company guidelines
Willingness and ability to do physical labor (climb stairs and work on a ladder, lift/move boxes up to 25 lbs, and other stored items from storage to staging/work area)
2 year college degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in [location] is $63,400 to $85,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job tags
