Title: Technical Writer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $50-$55/hr on W2
Responsibilities:
- Create, drive, test, and maintain technical documentation for voice, data, telecom, and VPN infrastructure.
- Work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the accuracy and completeness of technical content.
- Translate complex technical concepts and jargon into clear, concise, and accessible language suitable for various audiences, including technical staff, end-users, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, deadlines, and deliverables, and prioritize documentation tasks accordingly.
- Ensure documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines for quality, consistency, and style.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in infrastructure and technical writing, and incorporate relevant updates into documentation as needed.
- Provide support and guidance to internal teams and external partners on understanding and utilizing documentation effectively. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Technical Communication, or related field is a plus
- Proven experience working as a Technical Writer, preferably in the infrastructure domain, with a focus on voice, data, telecom, and VPN technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
- Experience with VPN technologies such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, and VPN protocols like OpenVPN, L2TP, and IKEv2.
- Proficiency in documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Markdown, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and Confluence.
