Salary:
This position pays an average of $79.18/hour+ depending on experience.
Description of Role:
SRI Telecom is currently seeking a highly qualified Wireless Architect to spearhead the development of an architecture that underpins essential functions in mobile device management, SIM management, and connection management. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a proficient understanding of device modems and chipsets, including those from prominent vendors such as Qualcomm. Additionally, they must exhibit exemplary proficiency in utilizing QXDM and QCAT for tracing and diagnosing device logs, along with a comprehensive understanding of network authentication protocols and encryption schemes.
Tasks:
- Define and address key device requirements for creating observability requirements on Android and iOS devices
- Define requirements for the device OEMs around the SIM-Device interactions
- Understanding of the device Modem, Chipsets and Firmware architecture to facilitate the requirements and design
- Understanding of SIM infrastructure providers and various SIM technologies for mobile devices
- Develop and manage process to test and certification for SIM Applets, Device SDKs and other solutions
- Troubleshoot and triage issues associated with Device, SIMs and support the test activities and provide trial and post-production support
- Work closely with the network/OSS/BSS/Product teams to define the use cases and architecture for the SIM-OTA, SIM Management and Device Management
- Work closely with the network/OSS/BSS/Product teams to define the use cases and architecture for the eSIM management platforms
- Define key SIM-OTA, device management use cases and client-side strategy/requirements for OEMs
- Develop and manage processes for test and certification of the OMA capabilities for the device certification for Proof of concept and Trial
- Work with the OSS/BSS and Application teams to define the end-to-end architecture for the Observability clients, Device management and Connection Management
- Must be able to communicate effectively and convincingly with all areas of the company - technical and non-technical - as well as with external parties
Skills & Responsibilities:
- 8+ years in Wireless Industry, including 1-3 years in SIM and Device Management areas
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, project management skills, communication (verbal and written) skills, and organizational/documentation skills
- Excellent collaboration and coordination skills to work with a matrixed team from various internal organizations
- Effective working knowledge of smartphone, operating systems (OS), and mobile wireless telecommunications ecosystem
- Experience in developing mobile device applications on Android OS
- Experience with the industry practices/processes for certifying mobile products for an MNO or MVNO
- Experience in evaluation of performance and user experience for mobile device applications
- Working knowledge of industry standard SIM tools like Comprion and CardX to debug SIM issues
