Job Summary
We are currently seeking qualified and motivated demolition project managers to join our expanding team. The optimal candidate is one who demonstrates a strong work ethic, has ambition, takes initiative, and possesses the leadership and management skills necessary to take advantage of the many advancement opportunities within our organization.
Job Description
- Contact Site Supervisor daily regarding job specific needs including workforce and equipment requirements.
- Maintain daily communication with job site crews to ensure project time schedule, crew needs and communication of information is being met.
- Maintain a safe working environment by identifying safety issues or problems and taking steps to correct workplace hazards. Ensure employees have up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies.
- Accurately read and interpret plans and specs, communicate and schedule project needs appropriately.
- Fire/hire employees if and when necessary in order to best complete job.
- Complete daily record keeping including: daily logs, job hazard analyses, equipment schedules, trucking schedules, time cards, etc.
- Support and participate in training to keep knowledge of demolition methods and safety refreshed.
- Manages field personnel in fair and equitable manner. Addresses performance issues as they occur.
- Participates in pre-con meetings to discuss project start up and future plans. Prepares and participates in regular job site meetings throughout the project.
- Provides timely and accurate documentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage and workplace injuries.
- Your duty will include effectively communicating with all levels of employees, management, and outside parties such as owners, general contractors, inspectors, subcontractors, mechanics, superiors and office personnel.
Skills Required
- Must have knowledge and proven application of the construction industry with a minimum of 5 years of construction and demolition experience.
- Knowledge and experience with any/all phases of demolition including interior/selective demolition to total mass structural demolition
- State Commercial Demolition experience required
- Applicants must possess excellent leadership skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Applicants must be able to read blueprints for general construction, site work, concrete, and demolition and be highly organized and detail oriented in the documentation of project activities and correspondences.
- Good communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management as well as employees, external vendors and other project associates. Must clearly communicate directions and information. Speaks effectively before groups as well as individually. Must have good interpersonal skills.
- Established understanding and proven application of the project process, working as a subcontractor for a GC.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, reports, plans and legal documents.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office, and complete familiarity with smart devices.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
- HAZWOPER, CPR, First Aid and Asbestos certifications strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
Education/Training/Certifications
- High School Degree or Equivalent
Additional Requirements
- Required Valid Driver’s License and OSHA 30-hour Construction Training
- Shift Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 50 hours a week. need to be available on weekends. Rarely work on weekend but be available by phone.
