Job Description

Patient-Centric Care: The practice places a strong emphasis on providing comprehensive patient care, with a daily schedule comprising approximately 20-25 patient encounters. This mix covers a diverse range of cases, including red eyes, foreign body removals, glaucoma management, diabetic exams, dry eye treatments, punctal plugs, cataract and LASIK co-management, myopia control, and pediatrics. I

State-of-the-Art Facility: The well-equipped office boasts modern exam lanes, advanced diagnostic tools such as OCT, fundus camera, visual field equipment, Optos imaging, autorefractor/autokeratometer, iCare tonometer, and an on-site optical and finishing lab.

Administrative Responsibilities: In addition to clinical duties, this role involves essential administrative tasks, including timely medical record completion, adherence to HIPAA standards, meticulous documentation and coding for patient encounters, familiarity with EHR systems, and active participation in team meetings.

Supportive Team: You'll be working alongside a dedicated and skilled support staff, including trained work-up technicians, opticians, front desk personnel, and a focused billing team. The Administrator is committed to the practice's growth, and as a single office location, there is no travel required. Plus, you won't have after-hours or on-call requirements, ensuring a great work-life balance.

Requirements

1. Valid WI Optometry License: The candidate must possess a valid Wisconsin Optometry license, ensuring they meet the essential regulatory requirements for practice in the state.

2. Prior Billing/Coding Knowledge and Understanding: Having prior knowledge and understanding of billing and coding in the optometry field is a significant asset, demonstrating proficiency in managing financial aspects of patient care.

3. Clinical Expertise in Optometry: The candidate should have a strong clinical background in optometry to effectively handle a diverse range of patient encounters, covering red eyes, foreign body removals, glaucoma, diabetic exams, and various other eye-related conditions and services. This expertise is crucial for providing comprehensive eye care.

This schedule encompasses a typical work week, running from Monday to Friday. During this time, work hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Employees are expected to be present and engaged in their professional responsibilities during these hours. The schedule offers a structured and consistent routine, with weekends and evenings typically designated as personal time. Please note that specific work requirements may vary based on the nature of the job, the employer, or the industry.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Active, Uninterrupted, Unencumbered Licensure: A valid and unencumbered license in Optometry is a fundamental requirement for this role. While an Optometry license is mandatory, consideration will also be given to candidates holding an ophthalmology license.

Bachelor's Degree in Associated Field with a 4-Year Doctor of Optometry Degree: To qualify for this position, candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field, in addition to a 4-year Doctor of Optometry degree.

Minimum One Year of Active Experience in Performing Optometric Exams (Preferred): While not obligatory, candidates with at least one year of active experience in conducting optometric exams are preferred for this role, demonstrating proficiency and familiarity with clinical practice.
