Job description
Overview:
This critical leader will report directly to the Chief People Officer. The Director of Human Resources Compliance will own the evaluation, creation and maintenance, optimization, and delivery for HR policies and procedures. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure that T-ROC operates in a legally and ethically sound manner, while fostering a positive, productive, culturally aligned work environment. This role requires a strong understanding of employment laws, compliance standards, and excellent communication skills to handle all aspects of effectively communicating these standards and policies while fostering accountability throughout the organization. It’s important that this employee-centric leader possess the ability to think strategically but act tactically and succeed at both levels at all times.
Job Duties:
- Develops, implements and regularly updates HR policies, procedures, and programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with T-ROC's mission and values.
- Partners with Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Training, Employee Relations, and other teams within the business to map processes, create supporting SOPs and training, and find ways to make them more efficient while maintaining compliance. Ensures that process maps, and documentation remain current and that process changes are effectively managed from a control perspective.
- Conducts regular compliance audits and makes recommendations on updates and corrections.
- Acts as an advisor to the HR team regarding local, state and federal laws and regulations, HR policies and procedures, equal employment opportunity requirements, employment litigation, federal and state employment laws and regulations, and/or other compliance or regulatory matters.
- Oversees and manages active and pending employment litigation matters, including working directly with internal stakeholders and outside counsel. Responsible for managing full cycle litigation from initial complaint or demand letter through discovery to trial/arbitration.
- Design and assist the HR team in the education and training of managers and the HR organization on regulatory and compliance issues.
- Maintains compliance with I-9 Records and E-Verification requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, HR Management, or other related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Experience in high volume retail, staffing, and/or technology industries preferred
- Prior responsibility over HR compliance, such as I-9s, training, FLSA, EEO-1
- Experience leading cross-functional projects as both a project manager and subject matter expert
