Job description
Position Overview: The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, programming, testing, and implementation of automation control systems. This includes programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), vision systems, robotics, pneumatic systems, and other automated processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation systems using Allen Bradley and Factory Talk software.
- Develop and debug PLC code from scratch.
- Integrate HMI systems with PLC, vision systems, robotics, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform unit testing to ensure that the automation systems are functioning correctly.
- Install and debug automation systems on-site.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and identify potential problems.
- Create and maintain documentation for automation systems.
- Stay current on technological advances in automation systems and control engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or related field.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of PLC programming (specifically Allen Bradley and Factory Talk software).
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug automation systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of SQL and web technologies is a plus.
