Type of Assignment: Full-Time Faculty

Position Available: MiraCosta Colleges Adult High School Department invites applications for one equity-minded, full-time (10 months per year), tenure-track faculty position beginning in August 2024. Principal responsibilities include teaching mathematics in the Adult High School diploma program and providing coordination for STEM-related disciplines and GED preparation. The person selected will share leadership roles with other full-time instructors in coordinating and developing curriculum, using culturally-responsive pedagogical techniques, and in coordinating the overall program. RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all full-time faculty to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employees regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.

Compensation: Initial salary placement is based on education and experience and ranges from $85,435 (class I, step 1) to $143,026 (class VI-doctorate, step 10) on the 2024-2025 Annual Salary Schedule. To view the Full-Time Faculty Salary Schedule, please go to

Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics; OR

2. Masters degree in 'Applied & Computational Mathematics' or 'Applied & Industrial Mathematics' (approved comparable degrees at MiraCosta College); OR

3. Bachelors in Mathematics; OR

4. Bachelors in Applied Mathematics AND Masters in Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics Education; OR

5. the equivalent. Applicants who do not possess the EXACT degree major(s) required to meet the minimum qualifications must attach an equivalency narrative and supporting documentation at the time of application. Instructions can be found at ; OR
6 . a fully satisfied, lifetime California Community College credential authorizing instruction/service in the appropriate subject matter; AND
