JOB SUMMARY: Prepares, distributes and controls sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and instrumentation. Assists the patient care team to provide and maintain customer service focus essential for smooth operations. 

Qualifications



Education & Training

High school diploma, with certification as Central Sterile Technician preferred.

Work Orientation & Experience

Previous experience in a Central Sterile Supply Technician position preferred. 

Skills & Abilities

Must be self-directed and capable to carry out assignments with limited supervision, and will accept responsibility to assist in on-the-job training of new team members. Ability to: a) effectively convey verbal and written information; b) follow directions; c) respond to emergency situations appropriately; d) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; e) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; f) organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities; and g) comply with The Joint Commission and OSHA standards; (h) be self-directed and capable to carry out assignments with limited supervision and, (i) assist in on-the-job training of new team members.
