Compensation: $18.14-$22.67 Compensation Type: Hourly Employment Type: Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 20 Grade: NE09 Department: Athletic Administration and Operations Position Summary Manages natatorium which includes, but is not limited to: staffing (hiring, evaluation, testing, training, professional development and recruitment of lifeguards as well as deck supervisors). Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement. Duties & Responsibilities

Location Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree in Management, Administration, Physical Education, or Recreation.
  • One (1) year lifeguard experience, of which six (months) must be in a supervisory position.
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, Standard First Aid, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certifications.
  • American Red Cross Certification as Lifeguard (LG) and Instructor (LGI).
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
  • Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
  • All required certifications must be current or attained within the first 90 days of employment. Failure to provide proof of certification within 90 days may lead to termination of employment.
  • Experience in management or administration may compensate for the required associates degree on a year-to-year basis.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employment is contingent on the attainment of A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate within 90 days of employment. Failure to provide proof of any required certification within 90 days may lead to termination of employment.
  • All employment with Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check. Some positions may require further educational verification to ensure compliance with our accreditation standards.
