Description:
Hiring for a Shop Mechanic who will be servicing and repairing emergency vehicles. This position has a heavy emphasis on mechanical repairs and troubleshooting, but there is an element of wiring and metal fabrication as well.
New hire will be working in a small repair shop environment with certified and trained technicians to refurbish, remount and upfit emergency vehicles.
Most of the vehicles are fire vehicles, so they will be working on valves and piping- and will need to be comfortable with hydraulics.
If no fleet experience, open millwrights with a heavy mechanical background that can perform metal fabrication/welding.
DAY SHIFT
Monday- Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm + Optional OT
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
TOP QUALS:
- 2-3 years experience with unfitting and refurbishing vehicles or industrial equipment.
- Experience with Hydraulics
- Valves/Pumps and plumbing experience
- Ability to follow shop drawings, prints, and or diagrams.
OTHER QUALS:
-Fabrication experience as plus
-Electrical lighting troubleshooting a plus
-Experience with motor home maintenance applicable
-Experience with bus maintenance applicable
-Refurbishing experience
-Remount/uplifting experience
-Experience with Spartan equipment preferred
-Reliable transportation & valid drivers license
