Job Summary
The Loudoun United FC & Segra Field team is looking for an enthusiastic and detailed individual to lead the Communications and Content build for Loudoun United FC (USL), and our growing Segra Field Events arm. This role produces content for internal and external purposes, writing key pieces and sharing through social media. This position is based in Leesburg, VA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Create a comprehensive communication plan to engage existing fans and reach new fans, which includes creating the content, managing the calendar, and executing the activities.
- Develop and manage media relationships, including credentialing for media and staff
- Support the media by creating and distributing press releases, fact sheets and media advisories and facilitating media availability with players, coaches, and staff.
- Create relationships for earned media through TV, radio, and print outlets.
- Create content for social media, website, newsletter, and digital matchday program channels.
- Strategically think of stories & interviews that can be distributed to media, and those that can be used internally for website/social media/newsletter.
- Create player bios, upkeep online rosters, update, write match previews, and prepare weekly match notes.
- Create video content for all platforms
- Set up and oversee matchday media needs, including any league requirements
- Maintain club historical records
- Manage and implement website updates and content creation through SportsEngine
- Lead all home and road matchday content including but not limited to: live social posts from event, updates on player status, scores, trivia, sponsor activation, contests, pre/post-game reports on website.
- Supervise game day photographers and ensure club and league requirements are accomplished
Qualifications - Strong knowledge of AP style
- Ability to work with external media, preferably has experience doing so
- Ability to move from ideation to execution
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and taking feedback productively
- Strengths in time management and multi-tasking with the ability to work within strict deadlines and quick turnarounds
- Working knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
