Job description

Our Culinary program is in place to sell our wines through creative food combinations showing our love of wine and exposing its hidden secrets. Our collaborative culinary team is here to provide an amazing customer experience and connect customers to our story while selling liquid art. We are a value-based company, we work hard and play hard, and we like each other!

Essential functions:

• Portrays the winery's image in the Tasting Room and Kitchen, presentation and delivery of an exceptional customer experience to every guest 
• Preps and serves food to the highest standards within our culinary team to develop localized, seasonal menus
• Assists in all aspects of our onsite food program with a special focus on kitchen experiences, onsite catering as well as food & wine pairing to increase wine sales
• Maintains the organization of the kitchen space and all areas where commercially sold food will be prepared; works closely with the Support Staff
• Ensures compliance with FDA and state food handling requirements for anyone assisting with food prep or service
• Assist with inventory count and order as needed: dishware, cutlery, cooking supplies, packaging supplies, dry goods and other foods as needed for the program

Skills & abilities:

• 3-5 years of culinary training and experience in food prep experience required; a scratch kitchen is preferred
• High school or GED graduate
• Passionate about wine and the wine/food lifestyle
• Excellent knife and kitchen utensil skills
• Able to prioritize in a changing environment
• Able to work well in a team environment 
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong reasoning, judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Creative thinking skills and able to think outside the box to achieve goals
• A desire for continuous learning opportunities 
• Able to multi-task and prioritize varying workloads
• Computer, oral and written communication skills 
• Able to lift and carry 45 lbs; able to stand for long periods of time
• Have or are able to obtain an OLCC server s permit and food handler s card
• Able to work weekends and evenings throughout the year

Position Comments:

• Team environment, robust benefits package and competitive pay
• The position is hourly; 40 hours a week/5-day work week variable schedule
• Base hourly pay plus a generous portion of tips, commissions and gratuities 
• Must be 21 years of age
