Nature & Scope: This position is responsible for providing electrical design support including schematic and point-to-point wiring diagrams under the direction of the Electrical Engineers.
Specific Job Responsibilities & Duties: - Assist Electrical Engineers in creating conceptual designs and help prepare documentation for new development projects including detailed schematics and panel layout drawings.
- Creating, modifying, and updating electrical drawings and panel layouts using AutoCAD system.
- Perform required design analysis to ensure the satisfaction of all project specifications.
- Create required schematics, detail drawings, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and BOM's needed for the procurement, manufacture and assembly of components.
- Work with Electrical Engineering to develop appropriate BOM structuring to insure a consistent specification and flow of purchased and manufactured components and assemblies.
- Ensures that all electrical documentation for components are released in a timely fashion to meet the requirements of the Project Schedule.
- Assist Technical Documentation employees in the preparation of all drawings, specifications, and spare parts lists required in properly supporting product in the field.
- Work closely with the Control Panel Assembly group to diagnose and address any issues during panel assembly.
- Maintain accurate digital drawing file storage.
- Track drawing revisions and maintain archived drawings.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Vocational or Technical School degree in Drafting or Design.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in machine design.
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- AutoCAD Electrical strongly desired
- Familiar with lighting, power, low voltage, and communications design
- Perform electrical calculations, load, voltage drop, etc.
- Size transformers, panel boards, distribution boards and switchboards
- Determine wiring and conduit sizes of feeders and branch wiring.
- Have a good basic/working knowledge of NEC and NFPA
- Must have exceptional computer skills, able to use network systems including MS Office, MS Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, team player.
- Physical and medical standards for this position must be met by the incumbent passing a physical examination by a company approved physician.
