Position Description:

We are looking for Senior Software Engineers who are excited to apply their talents to delivering cutting-edge solutions to our customer's challenging projects. Our applications are primarily built in a Linux environment with JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Redux, Python, and C++ and Unreal. The ideal candidate will contribute as a fulltime, hands-on developer while leading a team of ~5 software engineers through the entire software development lifecycle.

Position location is on-site at prime's office in south Boulder, Colorado 5 days per week.

Clearance Requirement:

• This position requires the ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance. Interim or Active DOD Secret clearance or higher is preferred. Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Candidate also must agree to participate in a background screen.

Responsibilities:

• Use Agile methodologies to manage development tasks and milestones.
• Ensure that the software development process is efficient and effective
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as software architects, program managers, designers, and other engineers to design, develop and test software solution that meet the needs of our customers.
• Analyze user requirements and develop software specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that follows software development best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.
• Debug and fix issues.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure software quality.
• Deploy software applications to production environments.
• Maintain and update software applications to ensure they meet user needs and remain secure.
• Develop and maintain documentation.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in technology.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or similar relevant field
• 10+ years of experience specifically in a software engineering role (an advanced degree (eg: Masters, PhD) provides two years of experience)
• Professional, hands-on, development experience with two or more of the following languages/tools: JavaScript, React, Unreal, C++, Python
• Detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• U.S. Citizenship

Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred:

• 3+ years in a software lead position
• Experience building backend web services and/or native applications
• Experience with Unreal vs C++ nuances
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tools and methodologies
• Experience with database design (eg: Postgres, NoSQL)
• Experience with messaging middleware (eg: ZeroMQ, KAFKA)
• Experience with Atlassian tools
• Willingness and ability to learn new languages as necessary
• Interim or Active DoD SECRET security clearance or higher

Salary Range: In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $145,000 - $250,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
