Cobble Hill Health Center is a not-for-profit long- and short-term care facility providing services to the disabled and elderly for over 40 years. The Nurse Manager will play an integral role in helping us to achieve our vision: to consistently exceed expectations and set the standard for excellence in residential and community care.
Schedule: Full-Time (Monday-Friday) Day time hours

Overview:
Clinical: Providing excellent care through preventive medicine and the ability to detect a potential decline to avoid crisis. This is done through day-to-day involvement, meaningful and purposeful rounding, and impromptu huddles as necessary, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking, while engaging all nurses, CNAs, and other disciplines in the process.
Managerial: Clearly defined expectations (with proper training) and accountability will drive staff to perform at their highest capacity with satisfaction.
- Supervise, evaluate, guide, instruct, and foster the growth and development of staff on all shifts
- Adjust schedule accordingly to support all three shifts
- Prepare assignments of nursing personnel
- Delegate responsibilities with clear expectations and conduct routine meetings with unit staff
- Audit continuously and evaluate the quality of nursing/unit practices.
- Assess, create, and deliver corrective action plan if necessary
Staffing: Creating a team environment of responsibility, passion, and focus where employees from all shifts feel a united front to care for our residents. It is the hope that with a strong team that feels responsible for one another, there will be no tension between shifts, and fewer call outs as not to leave their colleagues short-staffed. A positive and nurturing environment is key to retaining employees.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have proven clinical and managerial experience with driving high-performing nursing teams
- Have prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care
- Experience with SigmaCare (preferred, but not required)
Required Qualifications:
- Be a graduate from an approved school of nursing
- An active RN license for New York State
- ACLS and BLS required
- Unexpired verification of US citizenship
- Up-to-date physical examination (within the past 12 months)
- MMR titers and immunizations
- CPR certification
- Malpractice insurance
- (2) professional references
- Full vaccination for COVID-19
