Senior Inventory / Materials Manager Synopsys is the industry leader in providing cutting edge emulation, simulation and prototyping hardware and software solutions. Job Description This Senior Inventory/Materials Manager position will play a key role in managing our global inventory locations and 3PL’s where we house all hardware and system accessories. More specifically, this person will own all aspects of inventory and materials management including the ability to identify any operational challenges that affect inventory integrity. This includes coordinating with your operations team members and the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory count procedures and disciplines. This also includes shipping and receiving material on time and as planned, managing and dispositioning E&O, and ensuring that our warehouses and our 3PL’s are complying with cleanliness and safety protocol’s.
Additional activities will include the creation and management of KPI’s and other metrics which will need to be reported on a regular basis. This individual will need to work cross-functionally outside of the operations team and will need to manage changes in priorities and execute plans in a high-tech, highly energized, team-oriented environment.
Job Function - To be effective in this position, it is expected that the senior inventory and materials manager is working in person in the Sunnyvale office 5 days per week.
- Assess and understand our current inventory position and help develop next steps to get it under control.
- Help establish processes, procedures and disciplines to create better controls.
- Oversee the day-to-day inventory control of our global sites and our 3PL’s to ensure operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Provide support and engagement globally, as necessary to ensure flawless service levels.
- Play an active role to identify technological enhancements that will drive continuous improvement goals.
- Support RMA management and the movement of inventory in and out of repair locations both on and off site.
- Partner with Quality to document return in the system.
- Support the RMA review board to disposition material and coordinate next steps.
- Ensure replacement hardware has been shipped to specific spares location to keep customer systems up and running.
- Manages communication within the warehouses, carriers and the Business Units to ensure hardware is shipped and received at the correct locations.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area at all times.
Qualifications Experience: 8 to 10 years or more in a similar position and industry experience.
Education: BA/BS Required or relevant past experience. Concentration in Manufacturing Operations / Inventory Management disciplines is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: - Proficient with a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite applications. This includes some heavy excel, charts, graph, tables, lookup’s ect.
- Significant experience with modern ERP systems (SAP) is preferred.
- Able to manage working under time constraints, to multitask, and solve problems.
- Must be a self-starter.
- Requires managing a small staff of Inventory Analysts.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Able to make quality decisions on behalf of the Synopsys operations team charter and goals
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.
- Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing priorities.
- Communicates effortlessly and efficiently at all levels.
The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $130,000 - $227,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
