Peraton has a great opportunity for a Space situational awareness / Space Domain Awareness ( SSA / SDA) Engineer in Alexandria, VA supporting our Intelligence Community (IC) customer. Your efforts will fundamentally change what Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Mission Protection means for our Nation. This position requires minimal travel.
Skyfire is an SDA Indications and Warning (I&W) system. Its purpose is, find RSOs of interest, provide data to ground operators, and establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs). Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses: programitics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system.
The person in this role serves as a liaison among external stakeholders with diverse perspectives and the internal stakeholders of the project including the development and training teams. Provides subject matter and Skyfire expertise in support of the operator stakeholders at their work locations to answer questions, assist with development of operating procedures, and provide proficiency and on-the-job training. Provides operator perspectives and SME to other areas of the project including the development and training teams to ensure that operator and operational needs are understood. Provides support for exercises involving the use of Skyfire by supporting operator use of Skyfire during the exercise and coordination and troubleshooting as needed among all stakeholders including operator, operational support, and development teams to achieve the exercise goals.
