Job description
The Organist works closely with the Worship Planning Team and music staff coordinating music for one Sunday morning sanctuary worship service that is also broadcast live on KAKE-TV, the Wichita ABC affiliate television station, YouTube and Facebook.

The pipe organ in the Sanctuary of Wichita First United Methodist Church was built by the Schantz Organ Company of Orrville, Ohio, in 1998, with further additions made in 2007. The instrument contains a total of 78 ranks of pipes, and about 6,700 individual pipes. It is considered one of the finest and largest pipe organs in the state of Kansas and has the added benefit of being in an acoustically gracious, as well as visually appealing room.
The chapel contains a pipe organ built by the Reuter Organ Company of Lawrence, Kansas. This organ was built in the early 20th century and moved to the church from another local church. This instrument contains 9 ranks.
