Accountabilities

The Engineer will support Central Region Water operations by performing an assessment of current practices and procedures compared to industry best practices. Aurora, MO is the preferred location but, will consider other qualified candidates in Missouri near one of our facilities. The Engineer supports capital projects to upgrade, and improve resiliency and reliability of the water production and distribution systems, including the design and preparation of project documents. The Engineer will develop and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and QA/QC procedures.

• Provide senior management with written and oral presentations with the requisite information and supporting engineering analysis for them to make fitting business decisions

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution ability and group facilitation skills.

• Perform analysis of water systems; identify design problems; and provide corrective action recommendations.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and familiarization with Microsoft Project

• Identify water system deficiencies and problems.

• Prioritize the various capital projects and provide the basis for the implementation target dates.

• Assist securing permits and licenses and complying with municipal/governmental requirements to complete engineering and advance the project as needed.

• Effectively communicate and participate with external agencies, with municipal and regulatory agencies and contractors on a regular basis as the company's water system technical representative.

• Serve as water system technical expert during emergency situations.

• Assist developing, maintaining and executing QA/QC procedures and training programs for the Operations Department.

• Promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration and efficient resource utilization, both throughout the Central Region Water operational teams.

• Coach team members in technical skills, engineering, and quality control.

Education and Experience

• Minimum of a Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree

• Minimum 3 years system engineering experience preferred.

• Solid knowledge of water systems, water and water chemistry.

• Solid knowledge of SCADA systems.

• Experience prioritizing work and managing tasks for multiple projects to safely ensure adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

• Experience performing reliability and risk analysis.

• High level of personal initiative and the ability to interact with personnel, clients, and contractors.

• Comfortable in both a field and office setting.

• Willingness to periodically travel to other Central Region Water systems.
