Watch our video to see our team build top-of-the-line excavators and tractors. As a Fabrications Product Quality Inspector at Caterpillar, you will: - Completes inspections of fabrication structures and undercarriage using standard work, a checklist, and tooling provided (gauges, templates, etc.)
- Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
- Inspects welds on the product to ensure it meets the specifications as outlined by Engineering.
- Identifies defects, takes pictures, and records results in the defect management system.
- Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work.
Basic Requirements: - Basic Computer skills.
- Ability to use measuring tools and check gauges.
Physical Requirements: - Lift parts up to 35 pounds individually.
- Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks.
- Consistent usage of required PPE for the task being performed.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
- Ability to Stand at the workstation while performing tasks.
Top Candidates will also have: - Knowledge of Caterpillar systems ATRS (Assembly Tracking and Reliability System), PINPoint, Geneo).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
- Previous quality, welding or fabrication experience.
Schedule: - 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:15 PM - 10:15 PM
- Mandatory overtime required/ Scheduled in advance.
