Assistant Farmer's Market Manager

Job description
Cleveland County is seeking a seasonal farmer’s market employee to join our team. Our county is dedicated to serving its residents and improving health and overall well-being. As the Assistant Farmer's Market Manager, you will oversee and manage the farmer's market’s Saturday operations to ensure a well-organized and exciting event.
Responsibilities: - Provide guidance and direction to the setup team in instances of last-minute changes.
- Assist in market setup when necessary, ensuring a smooth and organized environment.
- Ensure vendors and special event vendors have all necessary resources for successful participation.
- Address vendor and customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Provide necessary support to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) team and run the SNAP booth if OHCE volunteers aren’t available to do so.
- Verify that all items are securely put away and the market area is properly locked at the end of the day.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required: - Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations with composure.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute plans effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to speak to all levels of staff.
Preferred: - Familiarity or experience with farmer’s markets and farming.
Pay and Benefits: Pay: Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
