Job Duties:

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is seeking a clinical neuropsychologist to fill a full-time faculty position as fixed-term or tenure-track at title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor/Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor/Professor.

Responsibilities of the neuropsychologist will include:
1.Clinical practice as a neuropsychologist (e.g. conducting neuropsychological testing and writing reports, therapy for cognitive concerns), including selection of appropriate testing assessments for a variety of adult neuropsychological concerns.

2. Teaching/training of residents or other learners.

3. Service activities in the department, as assigned/chosen.


Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the UNC Optional Retirement Program ( ORP ) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457).  This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System ( TSERS ). Minimum Education/Experience:

1. Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved program, or foreign equivalent.

2. Successful completion of an APA -approved internship in Psychology.

3. Post-doctoral training in neuropsychology.

4. Evidence of Certification by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists OR that you are eligible for appropriate certification as specified in the ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan. If you are not yet certified, certification will be expected in accordance with ECU Physicians Credentialing Plan.

The ECU Brody School of Medicine's affiliated hospital is ECU Health, the flagship hospital for ECU Health, that serves as the teaching hospital. There is a 52-bed inpatient service that houses acute beds, combined MI-ID beds, and combined Med-Psych beds in this 900+ bed tertiary care academic medical center serving Eastern and coastal North Carolina providing acute, intermediate, rehabilitation, and outpatient health services to more than 1.4 million people in 29 counties. The plans for 144 bed Behavioral Health hospital is scheduled to open in the spring of 2025.

This position will primarily practice in the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic. Like our hospital, our clinic has a large catchment area of 29 counties. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of social work practitioners, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and other allied staff. Learners in the clinic include medical students, psychiatry residents, psychology doctoral students, as well as master's level interns from various allied fields. The successful candidate will be a part of our Behavioral Medicine Division, which currently has 15 encompassing the specialties of health psychology, neuropsychology, and clinical social work.
