Job description

Coordinates specific, ongoing functions of the department. Provides administrative support to designated Faculty, Residency Director and/or Academic Manager.

Coordinate Academic & Clinical calendars for assigned Faculty.

 

Administrative support functions to include mail sort & distribution, processing dictation, triaging non-clinical phone calls for assigned Faculty.

 

Manage and maintain credentialing and hospital reappointment for assigned Faculty.

 

Types and proofreads correspondence, reports and manuscripts.

 

Schedules appointments, types and distributes schedule to interested parties when needed.

 

Complies and types statistical reports.

 

Prepares outgoing mail; sends and receives faxed messages.

 

Maintaining and scheduling existing /new patient appointments

 

Ensures compliance with federal/state HIPAA/PHI

 

Surgery Scheduling - Schedule/Post surgeries for (2) Neurosurgeons to include coordination with hospital and physician schedule

 

Coordinating surgery cases with internal providers or outside clinic; Enter surgeries into EMR (ALTERA)

 

Check authorization/insurance requirements and obtain authorization;

 

Complete /send consents preoperative office notes to pass office prior to

Surgery

 

Provide instructions to patient family in regard to H&P appointments and surgery; Schedule

post-operative appointments

 

Maintain contact with Professionals, Outside Community Physicians and Faculty.

HS diploma and t hree years secretarial/administrative support experience required.
