Coordinates the laboratory team . Ensures accurate and timely clinical diagnostic information is provided to healthcare professionals in order to ensure high quality patient care and customer service. Gathers data and information to assist with process improvements. Manages inventory and supplies to meet needs of the department.

Assist in technical oversite such as review of QC, EQC, problem solving, espicially in Blood Bank responsibilites. Current experienced blood banker transferred to ILH Lab.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Education must be obtained which is sufficient to allow certification under one of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certifying Agencies' examination routes. Must meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements to perform highly complex testing. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Note: Certifying Agencies include but are not limited to the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC), American Medical Technologist (AMT) Certification, and American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB) Board of Registry (ABOR). As long as these are met, any exam may be taken. Additionally, any regulatory agency personnel standards, which are applicable to the position, must be met. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 4 years experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS). Additionally, at least one (1) of the four (4) years of experience in the area to coordinate for all areas except Flow Cell Cytometry and Molecular which require MT level of education with four years of experience with one year in Flow Cell Cytometry or Molecular. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Technician Certification (MLT) OR Technologist/Scientist (MT/MLS) Certification MENTAL/COGNITIVE DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate effectively with people of diverse professional, educational and lifestyle backgrounds (C) Must have the ability to analyze written and spoken English
