Summary

Buckle is a specialty fashion retailer with approximately 8,000 teammates located in over 440 stores in 42 states as well as its Corporate Office located in Kearney, Nebraska. Our mission to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our guests begins with our people. To facilitate this mission, the Director of Total Rewards will work with the executive leadership team to continually develop and implement a comprehensive Total Rewards program that is designed to attract, engage, and retain top industry talent. Remote work arrangements may be considered for those who live within 350 miles of Kearney, Nebraska. Periodic travel to the corporate office will be required.

• Responsible for the overall development, implementation, and execution of a holistic total rewards strategy aligned with Buckle’s overall mission, vision, and values.

• Design and oversee competitive compensation programs to attract and retain high-performing Teammates, including base salary, incentives, benefits, and equity plans, and ensure fair and equitable compensation practices.

• Lead and develop the Benefits Team to ensure daily management of all benefits and reward programs and execution of projects with a high degree of customer service.

• Monitor local market practices, trends, and requirements to ensure benefit offerings remain market competitive, sound financially and legally compliant.

• Lead the administration and execution of comprehensive employee benefit programs, including insurance offerings, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other related efforts.

• Lead and oversee communication efforts to educate Teammates about benefit programs, partnering with other internal and external stakeholders as needed to deepen Teammate understanding and awareness.

• Provide thought leadership to design and implementation of employee recognition programs that motivate and reward Teammate performance.

• Collaborate with key internal partners, including HR, Finance, and Legal, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

• Manage relationships with external vendors, including participation in vendor selection, implementation activities, and ongoing review and status meetings to leverage their knowledge and insights for continuous improvement of our total rewards programs.

• Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team environment.

• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise teammates in the Benefits department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training teammates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining teammates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

• At least seven years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, benefits, or a related HR function.

• Experience within a national retail company preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
