Job description
Kelly Engineering is seeking an experienced Sr. Consumables NPD Engineer to join our client's Consumables R&D Team in Sunnyvale, California. This is a long-term contract role with the potential for conversion. The hourly pay rate ranges from $55 to $65, depending on individual relevant experience.
: As a Senior Consumables NPD Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming product requirements into sustainable, large-scale consumables production for the medical device industry. Your responsibilities will include leading engineering studies, supporting New Product Development (NPD) efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position is on-site at Sunnyvale, California.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, execution, and analysis of engineering studies involving mechanical systems, automation equipment, plastic consumables, and packaging.
Support NPD efforts, conceptualize, investigate, and transfer consumables parts production designs for large-scale manufacturability.
Write verification and validation protocols, coordinate consumable part and process qualification activities, and document the status of consumables throughout the product lifecycle.
Establish working relationships with vendors for outsourcing engineering services and collaborate with in-house teams for part attribute development.
Requirements:
BS in Engineering or equivalent with 5-7 years of related work experience.
Knowledge and experience with FMEA, SPC, DOE, and injection molding principles.
Proficiency in statistical analysis using MATLAB, R, Minitab, or Excel.
Experience with rapid prototyping, plastic injection molding, and high-volume manufacturing processes.
Preferred Experience:
Proficiency with SolidWorks and Engineering Drawing.
Project Management fundamentals and Quality Management System knowledge.
Previous experience in Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and integration of instrument, consumables, reagents, and software components.
