Northwest Center is currently seeking a Warehouse Sorter to join our spirited team and play a critical role in efficiently organizing and categorizing books in our bustling warehouse. Join us in making a meaningful impact as part of our nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting the growth, development, and independence of people with disabilities through programs of therapy, education, and work opportunity.
As a Warehouse Sorter, you will work in a welcoming environment at an assigned workstation and equipped with a scanner, ensuring that you can excel in your responsibilities. Your work will not only contribute to the smooth logistics operations but will also play a vital role in supporting our organization's overall mission of empowering individuals with disabilities.
Location: SeaTac, WA
Schedule: Full - Time; M-F: 8 am – 4:30 pm
Wage: Starting Wage: $20 per hour | Full Wage Range: $20 - $21 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:
- Independently examining books and determining its category based on predetermined criteria using a scanner. Categorizing books according to the established guidelines.
- Working efficiently and effectively to maintain a steady workflow, sorting books in a timely manner.
- Properly operate and maintain the scanning equipment and other tools required for the sorting process.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to leadership.
- Working effectively with others as a team to complete daily tasks.
What You Need for This Role:
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in categorization.
- Comfortability working within a non-climate controlled warehouse
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
- Ability to lift, carry and organize up to 30lbs consistently
- Ability to kneel, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, and twist at the knees/waist/neck.
- Ability to handle and grasp with both hands.
