Responsibilities

The Director of Packaging and Market Intelligence is an operations role fulfilling a new assignment within Mayo Clinic Platform (MCP) leading to thoughtful and insight driven strategic packaging of products, services and programs for the solution developer market. This role includes the gathering of market insights, client assessments, feedback from potential customers, and from team members/clients to guide a packaging plan leading to customer success. A strong partnership with product and R&D teams is essential.  

The effort of this role and direct reports support the rapid growth of the Solution Developer market including connections with health tech companies, health systems, and start-ups.  Mayo Clinic Platform intends to bring data driven solutions to reality and this role creates and executes strategies to target, package and price solutions as well as tailor that packaging for the consumer. 

Mayo Clinic Platform is launching a growth initiative for 2024 and beyond to serve the solution developer market with innovative strategies and data driven products designed to improve health care for all patients. This professional is responsible for leading a team in guiding packaging and pricing functions, market insights and customer identification support, sales enablement, and customer success inputs.  

Primary responsibilities include: 

• Directs overall packaging strategy and market intelligence to grow the Solution Developer Market footprint with an eye to market development evolution of tech enabled solutions.   
• Establish and manage a comprehensive sales enablement program that empowers the sales team with the right knowledge, tools, and resources. Including, creating and maintaining sales product/solution training. Partners with Solutions, Services, and finance teams on packaging and pricing of offerings.   
• Responsible for all operations within work unit, ensuring overall alignment to MCP strategy. Work collaboratively with the Sales team to manage sales automation tools and ensure CRM system data is accurate.
• Directly coordinates with sales managers to identify target markets and lead opportunities, support sales performance metrics and KPIs.  
• Sustains regular interface with Account Management and Services colleagues to ensure value in core offerings being brought to market.  
• Direct interaction with Marketing to create and continuously improve messaging/value statements, promotion/campaigns, overall material development. 
• Guides team members in planning and executing market insight, market intelligence, and new research projects. 
• Compiles data, insights, and analytics into usable reports with accurate analysis and interpretation. 
• Interacts with research and development functions to consider and suggest new products, technology, and service approaches. 
• Works with marketing, market research, and Strategy Department to identify and position opportunities. 
• Contributes to consistent data approaches across regional markets and assures service level accountability is fairly distributed across regions. 
• Supports continuous improvement efforts across division to support the overall sales process.
• Travel <10% time to meet market insight and business needs. 
• KPI’s for the role include regional expansion of accounts which are enabled by this team. 

Qualifications

• Master's degree in health care administration, business administration or related field is required. Minimum of 5 years' experience in progressively responsible leadership and management roles in a health, medical or science field is required.  
• Experience guiding teams to deliver timely results in ambiguous settings. 
• Demonstrated experience evaluating customer interest in novel solutions, programs, and services.  
• Experienced in discussing client needs with customers, technology partners, and other health care provider entities.  
• Data and analytics experience which may include finance, market insights, and/or market research. 
• Ability to successfully foster and manage team members through times of rapid change

Doctoral or post graduate degree in education or related field preferred. Experience with startup companies is preferred.
