Summary
Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Clinician Educator to serve as the Nephrology Fellowship Program Director.
We are seeking a full time BC/BE Nephrology physician to join our well-established, collegial group of 12 nephrologists and 9 advanced practice providers in Portland, Maine. Our group is the largest in the region and provides a full array of clinical services that encompass acute and chronic kidney disease, renal replacement therapy, apheresis, critical care and interventional nephrology, kidney transplantation, renal sonography, and kidney biopsy.
MaineHealth Medical Group is a division of Maine Medical Center and is Maine's largest multi-specialty medical group serving the healthcare needs of patients locally and throughout northern New England. The diverse and reputably trained team of 600+ physicians and 350+ advanced practice professionals provides a wide range of hospital based, primary, specialty, and sub-specialty adult and pediatric care delivered throughout a network of 54 locations across the State and acts as a regional referral network.
Maine Medical Center has 700 licensed beds and is the state's leading tertiary care hospital and Level I Trauma Center, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships and an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the position will involve teaching and mentoring nephrology fellows, IM residents and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program.
The Program Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining the fellowship curriculum and evaluation system and ensuring the program meets all requirements as laid out by ACGME and Clinical Learning Environment Reviews. The Director will guide strategic planning for the ongoing growth and development of the Fellowship program, in collaboration with the Departments of Medicine and Medical Education. The Fellowship Director will devote 75% of their time to clinical effort in Nephrology.
