Job description
Foreman / Carpenter - Commercial Construction. Looking to hire immediately.
Job Summary:
Family-owned, Roseville-based Commercial General Contractor is seeking a full time "hands on" Foreman / Carpenter. This is for a long-term employment opportunity.
Desired Job Requirements - Carpenter: - 5 years of experience in commercial construction, or related industry.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills related to commercial construction: understanding architectural & structural drawings specifically related to wood / metal stud framing, and concrete.
Physical Requirements:
- Standard work day of 8-hours, starting at 7am and working to 3:30pm doing physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions. Overtime will be paid for hours that exceed weekly limits per labor law standards.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
- Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
- Valid Driver's license, proof of insurance and good driving record required.
- Reliable transportation to/from work is a necessity.
- As a condition of employment, candidates must have acceptable background check results and may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
