Job description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks to support the financial operations of the organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Responsibilities:
- Fixed Asset (Calypso and Diane), enter asset account entries; maintain and update asset records and files, prepare asset and depreciation reports
- Leased Equipment, compile and analyze accounting information to prepare the leased equipment report for insurance, property tax and audit purpose; maintain contracts on file.
- General accounting entries, Nonoperational invoices postings and assignment to the ledger account and analytical code
- Account Reconciliations, perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and gather supporting documents
- Financial Closing, support financial close including prepare journal entries, analysis, and allocations.
- Prepare monthly the comments on the main variance vs budget.
- Audits, Budgets and Tax Returns
- Assist with preparations, respond to information requests, and prepare accounting documents
- Government Reporting, Generate environmental report for QHSE/Utilities consumptions.
- Prepare survey reports: BE-12, BE-605 and BE-577
- Involvement in the accounting related reporting
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and recommend necessary adjustments to ensure compliance
Requirements
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- · Bachelor's degree in Accounting / finance
- · CFA/CPA certification or working towards certification is required
- · Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- · 2-5 years of experience in accounting or finance is a plus
- · Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
- · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- · Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- · Strong organizational and time management skills
- · Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
