Summary
- Position Summary
- Under the supervision of a senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist and according to established policies and procedures, it operates electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes. Responsible for collection of EEG data for routine EEGs, Interventional Radiology, Evoked Potentials, Continuous EEG, long term epilepsy monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School Education or GED preferred.
- License/Certification: Graduate of or currently enrolled CAAHEP Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program. Eligible for exam under one of the following pathways. Level 1 technologist is expected to obtain R.EEG.T credential within 1 year of employment.
- CAAHEP Accredited NDT Program: Graduate of Program or Student enrolled at least 6 months in program; current CPR/BCLS certification; Part 1 Exam Passed and Graduate of Program; submit CAAHEP Diploma.
- Non-CAAHEP Formal NDT Program: Certificate of Completion from ABRET recognized program; documentation of 100 EEGs following completion of the program; current CPR/BCLS certification.
- Associate's Degree or RPSGT: Minimum of Associates Degree or RPSGT certificate; 1 year clinical EEG experience; documentation of 150 EEGs post 1 year experience; 30 EEG ASET credits; current CPR/BCLS certification.
- Certified in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association (may be obtained within 6 months of hire date)
- Experience: Individuals with an related Associates Degree and/or other allied health or nursing experience may be considered at Manager or Medical Director discretion in lieu of Education and License/Certification requirements.
- Must have basic computer literacy and be able to collaborate with IT and clinical engineering to resolve IT issues
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with seriously ill or agitated patients.
- Skill in using EEG equipment in line with safety, infection control and quality protocols..
