Job description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our team as an Accounting and HR Specialist. This role will involve managing various accounting tasks while also supporting human resources functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively handle HR responsibilities.
Responsibilities in Accounting:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Prepare financial reports and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Understand full working knowledge of QuickBooks Online
Human Resources:
- Assist in recruitment processes, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Onboard new employees by facilitating orientation sessions and processing necessary paperwork.
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
- Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
- Handle employee inquiries and provide support on HR-related matters such as policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist in performance management processes, including tracking performance reviews and goal setting.
- Support HR compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to labor laws and regulations.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives and events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or proven experience of 5+ years or more.
- Proven experience in accounting and/or human resources roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Familiarity with HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a similar role within the same industry.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and taxation.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
