Lead Pastor/Campus Planter

Location

Murfreesboro, TN | United States

Job description

ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are looking for someone who will initially join us as staff at our original campus, get to know the culture and people of ONE CHURCH Murfreesboro, and over the next 6-9 months begin to build relationships with those who are interested in being a part of a planting team. The goal is to launch multiple new congregations in the rapidly growing southern and/or western parts of our city.  Seeing as it currently takes 20-30 minutes to get from one side of town to the other, we are hoping that many of our members who currently live and drive across town to attend one of our two campuses  will join you as the new campus Lead Pastor in establishing a ONE CHURCH campus in these rapidly growing areas (e.g. ONE CHURCH – Eagleville, ONE CHURCH – Blackman, etc.).

Long term, the ONE CHURCH Campus Pastor will work with the Senior Pastor of ONE CHURCH and other campus LEAD PASTORS to oversee the overall health of each congregation but will focus primarily on preaching, teaching, ministering, and leading the specific local congregation that is entrusted to his care.  He will work under the authority of the ONE CHURCH elders, of which he will be an ex-officio member.  He will help recruit, train, equip, and oversee lay elders/pastors, teachers, volunteers, greeters, etc., for his campus. In conjunction with the other teaching pastors, he will develop a preaching/teaching plan that will be preached across campuses. (In other words, TOGETHER they will choose a book of the Bible to teach through over the course of time.) A few times a year campus pastors will trade pulpits in order to maintain unity and visibility across all campuses.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have at least five years’ experience working in a local church. Some theological training is required but M.Div. or equivalent preferred. Must meet the biblical requirements of a pastor as stated in 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1.  Needs to be an excellent communicator of God’s Word and enjoy building TEAMS. No Lone Rangers on staff here.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary is $75,000-$85,000/year plus full benefits and matching retirement account. As with every other full-time position in the church, about 80% of your job duties will be focused on your particular area of ministry and 20% will be focused on overall church health.

BE SURE TO READ ABOUT OUR CHURCH’S HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY OF CAMPUS PLANTING BEFORE APPLYING.  Applicants should include a cover letter, resume, and a recent teaching video to [email protected] .  Please do NOT submit application materials without a recent teaching video.

Thank you for your interest and we pray that God will grant us both wisdom in finding the right “fit” for this position.
