The Headlines :
In the role of R&D Hop Scientist working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the R&D team. You will develop new products, and/or process improvement solutions that expand revenue opportunities for Watertown Hop Co. The R&D Hop Scientist is the SME for MCBC Advanced Hop Products Development and Manufacturing and is responsible for defining processes to produce quality hop products through innovation, trial, and implementation. The role is also responsible for improving efficiency, functionality, and marketability of Watertown Advanced Hop Products. The ideal candidate possesses familiarity with customs, international shipping rules and regulations to be effective internationally.
This position reports Sr.Mgr Process R&D and works closely with Watertown Hops Co., Corporate Quality and the brewery network.
The Responsibilities:
- Responsible for defining and developing new lines of advanced hop products through innovation, trial, implementation, and documentation. This includes process improvements to improve efficiency, functionality, and international marketability of Watertown Products that improve our P&L.
- Work directly with Watertown Hop team to develop new "Waste to Worth" products that convert streams of Watertown byproducts into new sources of revenue.
- Delivers R&D technology enablers that propel ideation and solutions for growth opportunities in the Molson Coors portfolio. This includes development of new, proprietary technologies/products that deliver a competitive advantage via product differentiation of NEW beer and beyond beer products, flavor stability enhancement that benefits our core beer portfolio, and/or products that make our manufacturing sites more cost effective.
- Support Watertown Hop Co. Quality team resolve Quality claims and customer technical issues using UPS and other World Class Supply Chain tools .
The Other Qualifications:
- You have a bachelor’s degree (Advanced degree preferred) in Organic Chemistry OR equivalent experience (8+ years) in the field of development of advanced hop products, hop derived flavors, organic chemistry, and / or Analytical/Laboratory skills.
- You have at least 5 years experience in the production or research of Advanced Hop Products.
- You have experience performing chemical process calculations as needed for the improvement of the hop process.
- You have strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality process, and safe laboratory practices.
- You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
