We are looking for YOU to join us to ensure the reliability of the electric grid real-time operations of 20% of the North American electric grid load while on shift!

As our Unit Commitment Operator , you will add to your current skillset and train to become a control room operator to support reliability of the electric power grid on a 24/7 basis in a 15-state region impacting 45 million people! You will be required to successfully complete the training and certification program to become desk-qualified for the Intraday Reliability Assessment and Commitment (IRAC) operator team. Once certified, you will work a 12-hour rotating shift to ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant execution of MISO’s IRAC functions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide input on process improvement initiatives that will help MISO effectively manage risk and uncertainty in the ever-changing energy industry.
We are looking for talented professionals who have:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or a minimum of 4 years of related experience. Educational equivalency may be established with a combination of education, training, certifications and directly related experience
• Demonstrated successful completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for their assigned functional desk following on-the-job training, or successful post hire completion of the Oral Board and Simulation Certification for their assigned functional desk
• A current NERC/RC Certification OR be able to obtain NERC Certification following on-the-job training prior to operating their assigned functional desk
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
We would also prefer candidates with the following:
• Experience in one of the following areas: electrical engineering, generation system dispatch, economic dispatch, balancing authority, transmission system operations, merchant operations, generation operational planning, or power accounting
Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
