**About the Position: Endowment Accountant**

The endowment accountant reports to the client accounting services manager and will focus on providing exceptional client accounting services, quality management, and support to ensure prompt, accurate, and courteous customer service. This role is pivotal in collaborating with multiple departments within nonprofit organizations and plays a vital part in the accounting team focused on pooled endowment fund administration. The position is remote-based with occasional in-person meetings.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**1. Collaboration:**
- Foster collaboration across departments, both internally and externally, to deliver excellent service and support.
- Ensure adherence to internal procedures, policies, and FASB/GASB standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to provide insights, recommendations, and product enhancements.

**2. Accounting Services:**
- Conduct monthly/quarterly reconciliations of client investment accounts and valuation closings.
- Manage workflows to ensure accurate data capture and notify clients of any missing or incomplete information.
- Facilitate the establishment of new pools, managers, and funds while updating spending payout parameters and administration fee requirements.

**3. Optimization:**
- Conduct Adavico software training sessions to enhance user acceptance.
- Focus on process improvements, including streamlining workflows and implementing automation.
- Cross-train and provide backup support for all functions within the Endowment Accounting Services team.

**4. Client Support:**
- Assist clients with Adavico products or endowment-specific queries.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and identify effective solutions to meet client needs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on all Adavico software product lines and service offerings.

**5. Client Success:**
- Understand client objectives, challenges, and requirements to cultivate strong relationships.
- Conduct regular check-ins and introduce new features and updates to enhance client adoption.
- Collaborate with Adavico service teams for successful client journey outcomes.

**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Stay current with technologies, industry trends, and best practices to introduce innovations and process improvements.

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA license preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible financial accounting or auditing experience.
- In-depth understanding of FASB, GASB, and UPMIFA requirements.
- Experience with nonprofit financial statements and GAAP accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Adavico Web Application and Microsoft 365 productivity apps.
- Strong project management and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- East Coast time zone location preferred, with preferred locations in Virginia (Hampton Roads, Richmond) or North Carolina (eastern region, Raleigh).
- Reliable high-speed internet connection required.
- Ability to pass background and credit checks and maintain confidentiality agreements.

**Compensation:**
