ROUTE DRIVER The Route Driver requires a Class A CDL license and will participate in our warehouse/logistics operations and activities. The Route Driver's responsibilities include operating trucks and/or tractor trailers on intrastate and interstate routes delivering and unloading various products in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations. The Route Drive must deliver and unload products to customers on time, and damage-free, while maintaining positive customer relations. Deliveries will be made in the Northern California area with an average of 10-15 deliveries per day.
Responsibilities - Transport and unload products to customers
- Operate vehicles and perform pre-trip inspections
- Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations while operating vehicle
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks, hand trucks to move products
- Operate lift gates as necessary
- Comply with operating procedures (pre-trip inspection, wheel chocks, etc.)
- Develops and maintain outstanding working relationships with external and internal customers
- Plans and carries out daily route to ensure that all deliveries are made timely
- Communicates issues to supervisor and/or customer service in a timely manner
- Drives safely and follows all safety procedures
- Follow quality service standards and comply with all procedures, rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
Desired skills and experience - 5 years previous driving experience with Class B trucks and Class A tractor trailers, required
- Ability to work Monday - Friday between the hours of 4:00am and 3:00pm (8 hour shifts)
- Excellent DMV driving record (no more than 2 points)
- Maintain class A CDL license as required
- Ability to pass Defensive Driving course as per company policy
- Ability to lift 75 to 80 pounds
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements - Ability to walk up to two hours per day without exertion
- Ability to enter and exit equipment by stepping up and kneeling
- Crouch and squat for pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ability to consistently lift 75 to 80 pounds without assistance
