Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience and possess strong skills in reconciling bank statements and assisting in the development of monthly and/or quarterly financial reports. As a Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential support in financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Assist in the development of monthly and/or quarterly financial statements.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and perform data entry tasks accurately.
- Prepare and process invoices, bills, and payments in a timely manner.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activities.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Generate financial reports and provide analysis to management as needed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to data security policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Proficiency in reconciling bank statements and preparing financial reports.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks or other accounting software is a plus.
