Its experienced corps of Imagineers oversees the creation - from concept initiation through installation - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estate developments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects.
The Architect position represents professionally licensed Architects that focus on the development of storytelling through architecture and that touch all aspects of our theme parks and resorts from concept to delivery of the built environments enjoyed by our guests.
The Architect will report to the Executive Creative Development.
This is a Full- Time role.
What You Will Do:
- Provide support to the project team for design and implementation of assigned projects, support implementation of design intent as a member of the project design team.
- Prepare Facility/Attraction base information documentation (e.g., existing condition descriptions).
- Provide design documentation in the form of graphic illustration, imagery boards, color renderings, and research and documentation on assigned projects.
- Perform various basic technical tasks and documentation, including base sheets, construction details, plans/sections/elevations, design drafting, 3D visualization, and general project coordination.
- Develop varied architectural project work at all stages of assigned projects from concept, feasibility, or schematic design through the preparation of construction documentation in accordance with established departmental and divisional quality standards.
- Ensure that the design intent is achieved by successfully integrating facility design with allied disciplines and components of the development such as: infrastructure, area development, grading/drainage, lighting, graphics, structural and MEP engineering, etc.
- Prepare specific deliverables including, but not limited to base sheets, hardscape, planting designs, visual intrusion studies, material schedules, etc.; ensures alignment to department/divisional Standards of Practice.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Working knowledge and experience in the use of building materials and products for thematic applications.
- Demonstrated thoughtful design, artistic skills, and professional judgment in solving complex area development problems!
- Demonstrated proficiency in CADD (Revit and/or AutoCad) and digital illustration tools such as Maya, Rhino, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp. Working knowledge/skills in 3D software tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- U.S. Professional License credential.
- Two or more years of experience in architecture/design practice.
- Knowledge of architecture design and construction techniques.
- Knowledge of related areas, including land planning, civil engineering, area development, lighting, graphic design etc.
Education:
- A BA/BArch degree from an accredited program.
- An advanced degree in Architecture, Landscape or Urban Planning is desirable.

The hiring range for this position in California is 90,500.00 to 124,410.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
