Description STRIDE Community Health Center is a 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a 30-year history of providing primary care and other health-related services in a community-based setting. Established in 1989 in response to the primary health care needs of the medically indigent population in suburban Denver, STRIDE Community Health Center has the largest population base of any FQHC in Colorado and provides primary care, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, health education, care coordination, patient navigation, pharmacy, and outreach and enrollment services in accordance with its mission.
What will you be doing in this role? A successful candidate will: General Purpose: In order to ensure quality healthcare dental services, the Dentist provides general dental services to patients. The dentist position is under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Oral Health or Associate Director of Oral Health.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: - Provides oral health treatment including mandated care (prevention, emergency care, risk assessment), expected care (elimination of disease through extraction, restoration, endodontics), and optional care (removable and fixed partial dentures) as part of the approved scope of service.
- Evaluates dental radiographs and charts for accurate diagnostic findings and assessment.
- Reviews patient health history and charts existing oral conditions, findings, and assessment/plan into EHR system.
- Develops sequenced treatment plan for patients.
- Arranges referrals and consultations to patients as needed.
- Collaborate with medical and behavioral providers in order to coordinate appropriate care for medically compromised patients.
- Directly supervises rotating dental students in the dental clinics for quality outcome.
- Reviews prosthodontic dental lab cases with dental lab technician to coordinate appropriate treatment for patients.
- Participate in Quality Assurance/ Quality Improvement program: peer chart reviews and quality improvement.
- Collaborates with operational manager(s) and dental support staff to order and maintain dental supplies.
- This position requires working with portable delivery setups to serve senior population.
Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities - Attends all staff meetings and all other meetings as assigned.
- Participates in continuing education courses for most current dental industry information.

Qualifications A successful candidate will possess the following education or formal training: Job Qualifications Knowledge, skill and ability: - Ability to provide culturally sensitive dental care to patients with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to interact positively and build rapport with patients, coworkers and/or external contacts.
- Ability to work independently and organize work in a manner that ensures accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data to determine the appropriate program.
- Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.
- Ability to demonstrate the capability to effectively and sensitively respond to the needs and concerns of the full range of STRIDEs diverse patient population.
- Ability to handle sensitive information ethically and responsibly.
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of patient, employee and business information.
- Past medical dental integration experiences or willingness to work with medical providers for delivery of optimal care.
Education or Formal Training: - Doctorate degree in Dentistry.
- Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Colorado.
- Graduation from an accredited dental school.
- DEA License and CPR certification required.
- Successful completion of dental residency is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
Experience: - Previous experience working in a community healthcare dental clinic is preferred.
- Previous experience of working with Electronic Dental Record program required.
Material and equipment directly used: Computer, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel and the internet.
Working environment/physical activities: Office environment within a clinical setting. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse and keyboard. Moves about the office environment and occasionally to other locations. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Works independently.
