Job description
Central Dermatology Center is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and will be able to provide superior care in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a pleasant, calm, and caring demeanor. Our Main office is located in Chapel Hill and we also have satellite offices in Raleigh, Cary, and Sanford, North Carolina. This position will work primarily in the Cary location, but All perspective candidates must be willing and able to work in any location as needed or assigned.
Description of Position: - To assist providers in the examination, treatment and documentation of patient care.
- Prepare examination rooms.
- Obtaining a thorough and accurate medical history and list of medications for each patient.
- Act as a scribe for the provider by thoroughly and accurately documenting the history, medications, examination, findings and treatment plans.
- Formulate and obtain proper informed consents for in-office procedures.
- Assisting with examination, biopsies and surgical procedures, dressing changes, suture removals and allergen patch testing.
- Perform phlebotomy for patients when directed by the provider.
- Proper completion of pathology and laboratory requisitions.
- Educate patients on treatment plans and expectations.
- Answer telephone inquiries from patient, their families, primary care physicians or other providers concerning treatment, medications, laboratory results, surgery or related concerns.
- Respond to urgent and emergency situations as needed.
Required Qualifications: - 1 or more years previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records required.
- Ability to work well with physicians and physician extenders and anticipate their needs in regard to patient care.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized with keen attention to detail.
- Empathetic to patients needs and concerns.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to work with a team or independently.
- Must have your own transportation and be willing to work on all locations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in a Dermatology and/or Mohs Surgery practice strongly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of dermatology and skin care treatment is preferred.
- Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred (CMA, CCMA, RMA, CDT).
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday.

Salary: Starting pay is $18.00-20.00 per hour/negotiable based on education and experience
