Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time Tenure-track Communication Studies Professor. Communication Studies is a foundational discipline for students on all personal and academic paths. Courses focus on theory and application to help students increase their ability to communicate competently within a variety of contexts. The successful candidate must be flexible and available to fulfill department needs such as teaching from among the following: public speaking, interpersonal communication, small group communication, intercultural communication, mass communication, and other related courses within the department's offerings. Preference will be given to those with community college teaching experience and a demonstrated understanding of the community college student population. Possessing excellent classroom teaching and communication skills, the ideal candidate will have experience effectively using technology in the classroom to improve student learning outcomes and a commitment to classroom assessment.


This faculty member will also be able and willing to work collaboratively in a variety of department-level activities and college-wide projects. This faculty member will regularly teach three courses per quarter in a combination of face-to-face and online modalities. Department and college service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the Division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being student success and retention. All faculty and staff hired at Clark College are encouraged to embrace, continually support and enhance diversity and equity on our campus and in our community. This position begins September 13, 2024 .
