We are seeking an accomplished and strategic leader to fill the role of Associate Director of Commercial Operations. In this key position, you will be responsible for shaping and executing global pricing strategies, developing a comprehensive pricing playbook, owning account and hospital system contracts, quota planning, variable compensation design, and driving global service programs with tiering and pricing structures. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in global integration of Abiomed's commercial team into the greater J&J ecosystem, fostering best practice sharing to streamline internal processes and workflows, optimizing quality, collaboration, and profit margins. Your leadership will extend to leading a cross-functional team to implement operational strategies that enhance overall efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
Responsibilities: Global Pricing Strategy: - Develop and execute a comprehensive global pricing strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and customer behavior to inform strategic pricing decisions.
- Collaborate with regional teams to ensure consistency and adaptability in pricing structures.
Pricing Playbook Development: - Create and maintain a comprehensive pricing playbook serving as a reference guide for pricing decisions.
- Implement best practices for pricing adjustments, promotions, and discounts to optimize revenue.
Contracts Ownership: - Lead the end-to-end management of account and hospital system contracts, including negotiation, execution, and compliance.
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure contracts align with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
Quota Planning and Variable Compensation Design: - Drive the development of quota planning methodologies for sales teams.
- Design and optimize variable compensation structures to align with business goals and motivate high performance.
Global Service Programs: - Lead the development and enhancement of global service programs, incorporating tiering and pricing structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness of services on a global scale.
Global Integration and Best Practice Sharing: - Facilitate global integration by sharing best practices to streamline internal processes and workflows.
- Lead initiatives to optimize quality, collaboration, and profit margins through the implementation of shared best practices.
Cross-Functional Team Leadership: - Lead a cross-functional team to implement operational strategies that enhance overall efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous improvement.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.
- Proven experience in global pricing strategy, contract ownership, quota planning, variable compensation design, and development of pricing playbooks, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for all levels of audience, including executives.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships cross-functionally.
- Leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with medical device industry best practices and a track record of successfully implementing operational strategies for growth & scalability.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 - $203,550.
